Brand Manager

Playtonic Friends are looking to hire an experienced Product Manager as part of our growing team in the heart of the Midlands in the UK near Burton upon Trent.

We need someone that can create and infuse marketing campaigns with as much creativity as the games they work on. As part of a dynamic publishing team, the Product Manager will be responsible for levelling up our partners games through each stage of the process from ideation of a campaign through to game launch and beyond.

As recently announced, Playtonic has acquired investment from a leading technology company, and this will be used to drive expansion for development on multiple internal titles and to grow our recently launched publishing arm, Playtonic Friends. Playtonic retains full creative control over its IP and is looking to scale internal development teams with an emphasis on hiring diverse talents that share our passion for creating the vibrant and uniquely fun games, worlds and iconic characters that we are known for.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the marketing charge for games published by Playtonic Friends
  • Creation of marketing decks that establish core components of a campaign, based up the key marketing objectives
  • Development of the core vision that will define the marketing campaigns from the tone of voice, to the aesthetic direction of key assets
  • Creation and maintenance of the marketing calendar defining the beats of a campaign and all the dependencies
  • Platform holder & partner management
  • Management of relationships with external agencies for purposes including asset creation, paid media and public relations
  • Collaboration with multiple disciplines including Production, Business Development and Community Management to create effect campaigns

Requirements

1-3 years of Product Marketing and/or Brand Management within the games industry

A creative spark with the ability to develop plans that will rally the team around them.

Proven history of working on multiple projects at once

Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.

Senior Platform Programmer

We are looking to hire a senior programmer to develop and maintain platform specific features across all our in-house projects, as well as advising and assisting with our Publishing partner projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop features that include, profile management and savegames, leaderboards, achievements, online multiplayer frontend, DLC, user generated content, social media integration, and handling platform specific peripherals and input devices.
  • Ensuring developed features are easily transferable and reusable across a range of game projects.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to our Playtonic Friends publishing partners.
  • Porting support for our in-house games and publishing partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree.
  • Has at least three years of game development experience in a professional environment.
  • Proven history of programming in a C family language.
  • Advanced understanding of good software architecture.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experienced with console development across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.

Playtonic is looking for a Publishing Producer to join our growing team in the heart of the Midlands in the UK near Burton upon Trent.

We are looking to hire a talented Publishing Producer to take up this key position within the studio.  Working within the Playtonic Friends publishing team you will be responsible for managing production across our external partners titles.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the production process across multiple projects, allowing our partners to create the best games possible.
  • Advise and support our development partners to create and maintain a schedule for their project.
  • Responsible for the communication of project status and risks to publishing management and the wider publishing team.
  • Review milestone deliverables from development and outsource teams to ensure they are hitting agreed goals.
  • Liaise with development teams to understand and facilitate publishing support requirements across localisation, porting, QA, ratings, platform setup and release management.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure that all relevant materials are ready ahead of submission to platform holders.
  • Ensure communication is clear and open to build and maintain relationships between development teams, outsource partners and the Playtonic Friends publishing team.

 

Requirements

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Have a passion for games across many genres.
  • Knowledge of industry standard production practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.
  • A proven track record of working in a production role having shipped titles on PC and/or console.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Technical Artist with a proven track record who will be responsible for leading and directing a wcde variety of technical art requirements including defining the graphic production pipeline, tool development in Unity and Maya, performance profiling and optimising across the art asset and render pipelines and the development of custom shaders and graphics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Art, development team Art Leads and the Technical Director to develop and evangelise the graphics production pipeline.
  • Drive optimisation to define best working practices and procedures for the art team, evangelising to the team and taking responsibility for the adoption and application of these practices and procedures.
  • Develop or source the best tools and methods to facilitate the art team to improve productivity and quality and helping us innovate as a company.
  • Provide training, technical support and documentation on the tools and engine for the graphics team.
  • Remain informed and up to date on the latest technological developments, evaluating and introducing these where relevant for projects.
  • Mentor and manage Junior Technical Artists.

 Requirements

  • Proven track record working as a technical artist, having released at least one finished game with substantial input and impact on the technical art
  • Excellent knowledge of Maya and real-time modelling techniques and ideally knowledgeable in other content creation tools (Zbrush, Substance, Photoshop).
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, mel), C family programming languages and shader programming.
  • Detailed understanding of the capabilities and constraints of game engines and different game hardware platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.
  • Have a passion for games across many genres.
